midterms? page long blog post? sure thing

Well, this is quite the task at hand. It appears as if I have to write some sort of “page long blog-post” about what I like, and dislike about the course of AP Comp Sci. Well, this will be fun. I like this class, a lot, but there are a few things that I don’t like about it.
What I dislike about Comp Sci. There aren’t that many things to not like in Comp Sci. All the work can be completed before you even leave class that day, and the concepts aren’t too difficult to grasp. But it’s the less important things that bother me. I personally think that the blog posts shouldn’t be such a vital role to your grade. It’s something easily forgotten and not that rewarding to the person typing them. I mean, they aren’t tough to do, and I don’t look at it in a beneficial way, but I just think they shouldn’t be such a big grade. It’s too easy to forget to do them and your average bombs because of it. I also don’t like the class complete worksheets. I do like how it gives us experience in actually writing our programs, instead of just determining the output, but I don’t like having to physically write it. There’s a huge difference in typing up a program, and writing it out by hand. When you’re typing, you can remember all the little things that you do on the keyboard, and the muscle memory in your hands can guide you. But when you’re writing it, you have to remember everything and then put it to paper in a way that you aren’t used to. It’s not too big of a deal, because I can always get assistance from a classmate, but I just think the class completes should be labs, not papers. Lastly, I don’t like how when we’re going through the presentations, no slides should be skipped and at least explain more of what we’re learning in that section. All in all, there aren’t a lot of things I hate about Comp Sci, but it does have a fair amount of room for improvement.
What I like about Comp Sci. Comp Sci is a pretty fun class, it has taught me a lot of things, I’ve made new friends, and it has expanded my future opportunities. I’ve learned (when not doing the work I’m supposed to be doing) how computers work, and where to acquire information that I somewhat care about on the internet (other than 4chan). I’ve learned simple java, which I must say is a fun thing to understand. I like how lenient the course is, and how straight forward the work can be. I enjoy the community in this class, the way we don’t really know each other, yet can still relate on common grounds with ease. (I also really like how this class goes through lunch; that makes it so chill). This is a fun class. There aren’t too many things to say that I like specifically, but I do like it a lot more than I dislike it. It’s tough, but tough in a way that’s rewarding and worth the effort, unlike other classes (*cough* scitech *cough*).                All in all, Comp Sci has been a really fun class so far. I’ve learned a lot of stuff, academic and not, and I’ve just had a good time in general. Programming is a fun hobby and helps me connect to the technological world around me. I do enjoy this class quite a lot, I’ll make sure to take the other programming classes later in my stay at LASA. Now, to wrap up this conclusion paragraph and hope to the God that I doubt that Mr. Stephens will accept this as a page long. I doubt this qualifies as a whole page, but it’s good enough for now.
Pfeiffer out.
